The Daemon.exe process is a part of the Virtual Daemon Manager task for Daemon Tools. Daemon Tools enables the PC to bypass the security mechanisms of protected CDs and DVDs, particularly games CDs.

The Daemon.exe process is not an essential file to the computer system. It is a user invoked program and a normal part of PC operations. A very awesome and free program! This also uses less memory than any other drive emulator I had (Alcohol 120%, ect.). If you run virtual drives, this is the one for you.
