This adware usually arrives on a system downloaded from the Internet. This is a self extracting CAB file and an installer for the application Daemon Tools. Upon execution, it adds a folder and a file as DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer\\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer.exe in the Program Files folder. Trend Micro also detects the said file as ADW_SAVENOW.BD. It adds the following registry key to enable its automatic execution on every start up: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\\SOFTWARE\\Microsoft\\ Windows\\CurrentVersion\\Run DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer = "%ProgramFiles%\\DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer\\ DaemonTools_WhenUSave_Installer.exe" (Note: %Program Files% is the default Program Files folder, usually C:\\Program Files.) This adware also displays a message indicating that this adware is connecting to the Internet to download other software components. It connects to the following URLs to download the Daemon Tools installer along with other ADW_WHENU or ADW_SAVENOW variants: http://app.whenu.com/AppInstall http://www.whenudownloads.com/vvsn/DAEM090601/vsn.cfg The file VSN.CFG contains a link to where the installer is located. However, as of this writing, the said URL is not accessible. This adware runs on Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP, and Server 2003. Stop the program from task manager and then delete it from the program files folder on C drive More information
