The \'subst\' command to assign a drive letter to a folder is forgotten by windows when you restart so Visual Subst has to re-apply it every reboot.
Note that it will stay in the startup items even if you have not assigned any letters to folders -
If you open Visual Subst and un-tick \"Apply virtual drives on windows startup\" the entry will be removed.
