| Ate half the running CPU time on a laptop running XP. Removed by going to DOS (well, hitting f5 or startup and selecting minimal with command prompt), DOS-commands to navigate to windows/system32, deleting or renaming (" ren combop.exe combop.xex "). This thing will rewrite its registry entry immediately if you try to delete the key. AFTER renaming, the key can be deleted from the registry and won't come back. Laptop now runs 100% faster, and Procexp.exe (like sysinternals) shows CPU idle use in the upper 90% region, instead of 50%-57%. Remove it, remove it, remove it! More information | |||
