| This item keeps track of how many times the system has been recovered and the times of the first and last recoveries done on the system. Leaving unchecked will sometimes prevent the Keyboard Manager program from detecting that the computer is an HP. Since this program/driver was only made to run on HP, if it can't tell that it is an HP it will not run. If unchecked, it can prevent the running of the Application Recovery CDs, the use of the multimedia keys, and the HP Instant Support. Also seen that without it running, the Riptide Sound card that was installed on some older HP computers stops working | |||

| I have a HP Pavilion Ze5200 and I have disabled this with no issues but I am using an external keyboard and mouse therefore the multimedia keys and whatnot dont apply. But I would recommend to leave this enabled if your using the laptop keyboard and mouse and multimedia keys. I have used the application recovery cd's without incident although I recommend that when doing so that you unplug all usb devices including an external mouse and keyboard and then after windows is reloaded and Internet ready then hook them up so it can find and load the necessary drivers. | |||

| This process appears to result from a complete restoration of a HP (Hewlett-Packard) made with the tools provided with the purchase. It verifies that this restoration s? Is entirely different place and record information if a problem occurs. This information can only be read as part of the support engineers from Hewlett-Packard and is used to solve the problems of restoration. If your PC No? Is out of warranty then it is unnecessary to maintain this process. And if you don? Have not made any restaurant these days and that your computer is running perfectly, then this process can be deleted. | |||
