Installed with Apple's iTunes for Windows. Uses ~3-4MB of memory and if disabled in MSCONFIG or deleted from the registry it will re-instate itself after running iTunes a few times - hence the reluctant Y recommendation

I resent this program. I can\'t seem to get QuickTime without all this iPod excess baggage. I don\'t own an iPod and have no plans to get one. My opinion of Apple is greatly diminished by this marketing technique.

I don\'t think you do not need this, it is to make iTunes run faster, but it does slow down my pc but [Love iTunes]

It helps iTunes run faster. It\'s built in to the program

All it does is make iTunes start faster/ It\'s not associated with iPod at all.

This is a waste of time. Dont allow this at startup as when you need it you can access it via itunes in the normal way. It sits redundant until you do this

With it enabled, Itunes starts pretty quickly. Without it, Itunes would only start when an ipod is connected. Manual start did not seem to work. Even with the ipod attached, itunes took forever to start up. Also, I feel opposite of Kirk inasmuch as I resent having to install quicktime every time I download the latest version of Itunes.

THis is safe and is required for auto start of iTtunes when you connect iPod. In case you disable and connect your iPod instead of iTunes you have folder view ie the iPod displays as external drive. So disable only incase you do not use an iPod for sync music/ games etc
